Who We Are

Thuban is a product of OrionOS / Silverwings Benefits Ltd, registered in the United Kingdom. We provide code health scanning and analysis tools for software developers and engineering teams.

What Thuban Does With Your Code

Nothing. Thuban runs entirely on your machine. Your source code is never uploaded, transmitted, stored, or accessed by us. Every scan, every fix, every report is generated locally. We never see your code.

What Data We Collect

1. Website (thuban.dev)

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our website. This collects:

• Pages viewed and time on page
• Approximate geographic location (country/city level)
• Device type, browser, and operating system
• Referral source (how you found us)

Google Analytics uses cookies. You can opt out using the cookie banner on our website, or by using a browser extension such as Google Analytics Opt-out.

2. Payments (Stripe)

When you purchase a Thuban subscription, payments are processed by Stripe. We receive:

• Your email address
• Your name (if provided)
• Subscription plan and billing status

We do not receive or store your credit card number, CVV, or full card details. These are handled entirely by Stripe under their own privacy policy.

3. CLI Tool (npx thuban)

By default, the Thuban CLI collects no data at all. Everything runs locally.

If you opt in to anonymous usage analytics (by running npx thuban telemetry --on), we collect:

• Number of files scanned
• Health score and grade
• Languages detected in the project
• Scan duration
• Thuban version
• Operating system (e.g. Windows, macOS, Linux)

We do not collect: file names, file contents, source code, directory paths, project names, IP addresses, or any personally identifiable information.

You can opt out at any time by running npx thuban telemetry --off.

4. Support & Issues

If you contact us by email or open a GitHub issue, we receive whatever information you choose to share. We use this solely to resolve your query.

How We Use Your Data

• To provide and improve the Thuban product
• To process payments and manage subscriptions
• To understand how our website and CLI are used
• To respond to support requests

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

Data Storage & Security

Website analytics data is stored by Google (under their data processing terms). Payment data is stored by Stripe. Anonymous CLI telemetry, if enabled, is stored on secure servers within the UK/EU.

Your Rights (GDPR)

If you are in the UK or EU, you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate data
• Delete your data ("right to be forgotten")
• Object to data processing
• Port your data to another service
• Withdraw consent at any time

Cookies

Our website uses the following cookies:

• _ga, _ga_* — Google Analytics (tracking website usage). Duration: up to 2 years.
• thuban_cookie_consent — Stores your cookie preference. Duration: 1 year.

No cookies are set until you accept the cookie banner. Essential cookies (consent preference) do not require consent under UK GDPR/PECR.

Children

Thuban is a developer tool. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it immediately.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top will change. Continued use of Thuban after changes constitutes acceptance.
